Adaptable, exceptionally light and durable – those are the attributes of MYKITA’s material MYLON.
Made from fine polyamide powder fused into solid objects using a 3D printing technology called Selective Laser Sintering. Formed layer by layer according to a digital data set, the high-tech material allows for ultimate freedom in design. The collection illustrates this unrestraint with shapes ranging from discreet to defiant. The unique look and feel of the MYLON material is achieved by a proprietary finishing treatment. Despite its high-tech origins the pigmented, matt surface has an organic quality. This is accentuated when paired with sleek steel or mirrored lenses, referencing the textured design language of sportswear.
Futuristic Shield models such as the ALOE and YARROW combine ultra-lightweight stainless steel with MYLON elements and demonstrate MYKITA’s core competence: the combination of precise craftsmanship with innovative technology. The MYLON Click-In Nosepiece provides a comfortable fit and is also the central design element that holds the lenses in the frame and gives the frame the necessary stability. The characteristic haptics of the high-tech material further underscore the unmistakable HYBRID esthetics.
The MYKITA MYLON collektion is available as of today at MYKITA Shop Berlin.
